Restorative Journeys

Deep relaxation through breathwork, restorative postures & therapeutic touch
What are Restorative Journeys?
Restorative Journeys are your chance to stretch and relax in restorative postures while you receive hands-on massage therapy, either on your own, with a partner or in a small group setting.
A Restorative Journey opens with mindfulness techniques designed to activate the parasympathetic nervous system (the state in which we are relaxed, rather than stressed). You will then be guided into a series of simple restorative postures with props and blankets used to make sure you are supported and comfortable. Each posture is designed to allow the body to open, stretch and release, and during the time that you are in each posture you will be offered therapeutic massage to a specific part of the body, with each person receiving the touch element in turn whilst being encouraged to continue connecting to the their breath and relax into supported position they are in.
What happens at a Restorative Journey?
Restorative Journeys take place either individually, with a partner/friend or in a small group setting (maximum four people) here at Botelet Farm. It is a welcoming, held and safe space for you to relax and unwind, connecting to your breath, releasing and stretching your body whilst receiving therapeutic touch.
A typical session lasts for two and a half hours (or two hours for a solo session), and for the partner or small group sessions, includes space for connection with the other attendees over a cup of tea and light bite after the hands-on part ends. A typical session might look like:
Arrival and welcome
Setting an intention for the session
Mindfulness, restorative postures & therapeutic touch: opening mindful moment followed by guided restorative positions and therapeutic touch
Shared cup of tea and light bite to round off
Absolutely no experience is needed, this is a gentle, nurturing class and you will be guided and supported with each position you are in.
What should I bring?
Wear clothes that you are comfortable to move in - think what you might wear to a yoga session. Bring a warm jumper and socks, as you will be resting in each posture. All props are provided, along with tea and snack.
Anything else?
Therapeutic touch is offered over clothing, using light or medium pressure (I will check in with you regarding your preference). Prior to the session I will email you a consultation form to check if there are any health conditions that affect the postures you are guided into, or the therapeutic touch you receive. Sanitiser is used before and after offering therapeutic touch to each person.
Please do contact me if you have any questions.

“The Circle was so incredibly soothing and restorative. I came feeling depleted and exhausted and immediately stepped into a cocoon of care, and felt so held”
